The New York Post reported today that Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, the infamous mastermind behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, died in prison. Good riddance to garbage. He was an associate of Fadil Abdelghani, a former client of New York State Assemblyman Charles Lavine. Lavine defended Abdelghani in the mid-90s.
Defendant Fadil Abdelgani followed with the traditional response ‘Allahu Akhabar,’ meaning ‘God is Great.’ ‘He’s an excitable young man,’ explained Abdelgani’s lawyer Charles Lavine. “Defense lawyers in the New York City terror trial,” Sascha Brodsky, UPI.com 10/1/95
Yes, we think he was too Chuck. Luckily for our sake, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) deported your former client in 2015 after he served 25 years in prison for terrorism.
